My journey into sculptures

I haven’t ventured into sculpture yet, but I’m excited to start this week. I have self-drying clay on hand and am considering incorporating other materials, such as metal strips and even neon lights. The prospect of experimenting with different textures and mediums is exhilarating, but it can also feel intimidating to embark on something new.

To ease my apprehension, I plan to conduct some research on sculpture techniques and styles. I believe this will help me gain confidence and spark inspiration as I navigate this unfamiliar territory. One artist whose work I find particularly compelling is Alberto Giacometti. I admire how his sculptures strike a balance between roughness and gentleness, conveying deep existential themes.

Drawing from Giacometti’s influence, I hope to explore how my own sculptures can embody a sense of vulnerability while challenging traditional forms. This journey into sculpture represents a new avenue for creative expression, and I’m eager to see how these explorations will enhance my artistic practice. I look forward to sharing my progress as I dive into this exciting new medium!
