This painting has become one of my favorites, representing a significant shift in my artistic journey. Initially, I envisioned it filled with bold reds and prominent writings, but I eventually transformed it completely. Deepening my understanding of Mark Rothko’s works has profoundly influenced my approach to abstraction and the meaning behind painting abstractly.
While I still appreciate my earlier pieces that incorporated text, I now see how those writings can simplify the artwork and potentially limit the viewer’s interpretation. I believe that by removing explicit labels, I can invite a more profound connection between the audience and the artwork.
Recently, I’ve been focusing on expressing the essence of writing in an abstract manner, allowing viewers to resonate with my state of mind without being directed by words. My goal is for each individual to engage with the painting on a personal level, generating their own interpretations and meanings. This new direction feels liberating, and I am excited to explore the limitless possibilities that pure abstraction offers.
